A successful launch!

This was a great week for the Elephant and Macaw Banner, with the Brazilian launch of “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara”.  It kept me busy with three interviews and my first ever book signing.

Below I’ve included some pictures of the events.

TV interview on the show Camarote, presented by Katia Suman:

Radio interview on Estação Cultura, presented by Lidiane Blanco:

Book launch and autograph session at Livraria Cultura, Porto Alegre:

It was a night to remember.

Many thanks to everyone who participated!

Brazilian version of “Fortuitous Meeting” to launch next week

Although it’s already in stores around Brazil, the official launch of the book Duplo Fantasia Heroica, featuring “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” is lined up for next week.

I’ll be doing an autograph session at Livraria Cultura in Porto Alegre, but the other author, Roberto de Sousa Causo, unfortunately can’t attend.

Thanks again to Causo and Devir and everyone else who made this happen!

Heroic Fantasy panel on Wednesday

For all the Brazilian readers who haven’t subscribed to the Portuguese version of the website yet, please check out the post “Palestra sobre Fantasia Heroica quarta-feira” (and please subscribe! :).

I’ll be doing a round table discussion on Wednesday in Porto Alegre with Cesar Alcázar and Duda Falcão of Argonautas Editora.  We’ll be discussing the history of Sword & Sorcery and the recent initiatives in Brazil, including our own contributions: Sagas Vol 1- Espada e Magia from Argonautas, and Duplo Fantasia Heroica, my title with Roberto de Sousa Causo and Devir Livraria.

Video of WFC reading

The amazing Al Bogdan taped my reading of “The Forituitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” at the World Fantasy Convention last week.  It was my first-ever reading, and in my allotted thirty minutes I made it through half the story.

For size reasons, the video is split into three parts (at the scene breaks).  You can see part one here:

Or watch all three parts at The Elephant and Macaw Banner YouTube channel.

Hope you enjoy!
